It is intended for grinding and sharpening tools such as chisels, plane irons, turning gouges and knives. The slow-running, water-cooled grinding wheel prevents the edge from overheating while sharpening.<\/p>\n<p>The motor with 160 W input power (230 V) drives the stone via a friction wheel, and the speed is variable from 90 \u2013 150 rpm. This keeps the grinding speed constant even as the stone diameter decreases. The stainless steel spindle runs in sintered bushings, and the friction wheel pressure is adjustable. The enclosed motor housing keeps out water and debris.<\/p>\n<p>Next to the \u00d8 250 \u00d7 50 \u00d7 \u00d8 12 mm grinding wheel sits a \u00d8 230 \u00d7 30 mm leather honing wheel for honing the edge.
