Overview
The JET JBM-5-M is a benchtop mortiser for workshops, construction sites, trades and schools. It is intended for mortising wood and wood substitutes and uses a hollow chisel and bit to cut square mortises for frame, furniture and chair joints.
The 230 V motor with 0.37 kW runs at 1450 rpm. Hollow chisels up to 12.7 × 12.7 mm are fitted via adapter bushings for shank sizes 5/8 / 3/4 / 13/16 inch, and the stroke is 120 mm. The head is height-adjusted by rack, and a gas strut balances its weight. The operating lever can be repositioned. The sturdy cast iron construction weighs 20 kg and is compact enough for mobile use.
The 345 × 150 mm table has a replaceable MDF surface, and fence, hold-down and depth stop are adjustable. Supplied with 10 mm geared chuck, spindle extension, three adapter bushings, fence, hold-down and MDF table surface. Hollow chisels are not included.
