JET JSG-96-M Belt and disc sander – In use

Overview

The JET JSG-96-M is a combined belt and disc sander for workshops, model making, trades and schools. It is intended for sanding wood and wood-based materials, for example chamfering, sanding edges and end grain or smoothing small workpieces. Wet sanding is not intended.

The 230 V motor with 0.5 kW drives both belt and disc. The 150 × 1220 mm belt runs at 10 m/s, and the 230 mm disc at 1400 rpm. The belt sander can be used vertically, horizontally and in intermediate positions. A graphite-coated steel platen under the belt reduces heat build-up, and the rubber-coated drive drum reduces slip.

Belt tracking is adjusted with knurled screws during operation. The work table (190 × 300 mm) tilts from 0° – 45° and has preset stops at 90° and 45°. Supplied with grit 80 sanding belt and disc paper, two sanding tables, mitre gauge and a circle sanding jig.
