TUF TOOL 98-0060 clamp tool

The TUF TOOL 98-0060 makes it easier to change the abrasive strip on compatible JET and Powermatic drum sanders.

The tool allows you to reach, lift and hold open the difficult-to-access spring-loaded clamping mechanism inside the sanding drum while inserting the abrasive strip.

Its special shape improves leverage and makes it easier to insert and remove the tapered end of the abrasive strip.

The corrosion-protected surface and red grip area provide durable and safe handling.

Use

1. Switch off the machine, disconnect it from the power supply and wait until all moving parts have come to a complete stop.
2. Hold the TUF TOOL with the grip pointing away from your body.
3. Insert the hook into the outer hole of the clamp lever.
4. Lift the clamp lever until it rests against the inside of the sanding drum.
5. Turn the tool counterclockwise and lower it onto the abrasive strip.
6. Insert the tapered end of the abrasive strip into the slot and the open clamp.
7. Lift the tool with a gentle pull, turn it clockwise and carefully remove it from the hole.
8. Remove the TUF TOOL completely from the machine before switching the machine on.
