JET JWDS-1836-M Drum sander

The JET JWDS-1836-M is a drum sander for joinery shops, workshops and schools. It is intended for sanding wood and similar materials, for example levelling glued-up panels, sizing strips and panels or sanding thin parts from 0.8 mm. Wet sanding is not intended.

The 1.3 kW drum motor (230 V) drives the sanding drum at 1400 rpm. A separate feed motor moves the conveyor belt at a variable speed of 0 – 3 m/min. The SandSmart control monitors the drum motor load and adjusts the feed rate automatically to avoid overloading. The dynamically balanced aluminium drum dissipates heat and helps prevent burn marks.

The sanding width is 457 mm in one pass, and the open-end design allows widths up to 914 mm in two passes. The drum is raised and lowered by a crank at 1.6 mm per turn. The parallelism of the conveyor table is adjustable. Supplied with a mounted grit 80 abrasive, the height crank and an open stand with mounting hardware.
