Overview
The Baileigh RD-1000M is a radial drill for drilling large and heavy workpieces in steel, machine and vessel fabrication as well as maintenance. The drill head is mounted on an arm that swings around the column and is moved to the hole position while the workpiece stays in place. The spindle motor is rated 1.5 kW (2 HP), drilling capacity is 40 mm.
Reach ranges from 198 to 1000 mm, base to spindle distance from 262 to 1062 mm. The arm is raised and lowered by its own motor (0.55 kW) at 1200 mm/min and swings through 360°. The MT4 spindle runs in 6 steps from 75 to 1220 rpm, quill travel is 250 mm with 3 feed rates from 0.10 to 0.25 mm/rev. Maximum spindle torque 200 Nm, maximum feed force 6300 N.
Column and arm are locked with clamping levers, a box-type work table holds the workpiece. The coolant pump (0.09 kW) draws from the tank cast into the base. Weight is 1700 kg, the operating manual is included.

Operating manuals and spare-parts listsProduct safety
Rotating or cutting parts: entanglement, cutting, impact and workpiece-ejection hazards. Observe chips, sparks, dust and noise. Trained operators only; never exceed rated capacities.
Install the machine securely and operate it in accordance with the manual. Clamp the workpiece and tool correctly, use all guards and check the work area before starting. Wear eye or face protection, hearing protection and respiratory protection where required. Keep loose clothing, jewellery and long hair away from rotating parts. Switch off, isolate all energy sources and wait for a complete stop before setup, cleaning, fault removal or tool changes.
