Overview
The Baileigh PL-1440E is a lathe for turning and threading in workshops, machine building, maintenance and training. The 2.2 kW motor drives the spindle (D1-5 nose, MT6 taper, 51 mm bore) in 8 steps from 90 to 1800 rpm.
Swing is 360 mm over the bed, 220 mm over the cross slide and 500 mm in the gap (gap length 220 mm), distance between centres 1000 mm. The quick-change gearbox provides 40 longitudinal and 33 cross feeds as well as 22 metric threads from 0.4 to 7.5 mm and 40 inch threads from 4 to 112 TPI. The tailstock has a Ø 45 mm quill with 110 mm travel and MT4 taper.
Equipment includes a digital readout (DRO), foot brake, coolant system and LED work light. Supplied accessories include 203 mm three-jaw and four-jaw chucks, a 305 mm face plate, steady and follow rests, splash guard, chuck guard with limit switch, centres, change gears and tools. Net weight is 743 kg.
