Overview
The Baileigh SF-5216 is a foot-operated shear for cutting sheet metal in workshops, trades, metal fabrication and training. It cuts mild steel up to 1.52 mm and stainless steel up to 0.91 mm over a length of up to 1321 mm, with a minimum material thickness of 0.61 mm. The machine has no motor.
Stepping on the foot pedal first lowers the hold-downs onto the sheet, then the top blade moves past the lower blade. Two return springs bring the top blade back to the up position. A cover protects the hold-down area and the blade travel.
The graduated side gauge keeps the material square to the blade, while the front gauge and miter gauge help with straight and angled cuts. For repeat cuts the back gauge is positioned using graduated shafts and micro-adjusters. Support arms carry larger sheets. Shipping weight is 454 kg.
