Overview
The JET JWBS-18-M is a band saw for joinery shops, workshops, trades and schools. It is designed for sawing wood, wood-based materials and hard plastics, and metal workpieces must not be cut. Besides straight rip and cross cuts, it is suitable for curved cuts and resawing workpieces up to the maximum cutting height.
The 230 V single-phase motor with an output of 1.5 kW drives the blade. The wheels have a diameter of 470 mm, and the cutting speed is 580 / 900 m/min. Two selectable cutting speeds allow adaptation to hardwood and softwood. With a cutting height of 406 mm and a cutting width of 457 mm, the saw uses blades of 3810 mm length and 3 – 30 mm width. The 690 × 508 mm table tilts within -5° to 45°.
The precision-ground cast iron table also supports large workpieces, and the working height is 940 mm. The ball bearing blade guides can be adjusted independently and without tools, and an electromechanical motor brake stops the blade after switching off. Supplied with rip fence with guide rail, mitre gauge ± 45°, a 20 mm blade and the dust port.

Product safety – JET JWBS-18-M Band saw. • Use only for the intended purpose, within the stated limits and in accordance with the complete operating instructions; trained adults only. • Before every use, inspect the machine, mounting, guards, switches, power cord and dust extraction; do not operate a damaged or incomplete machine. • Provide stable installation, a clear and well-lit work area and the power supply specified on the rating plate and in the manual; electrical work must be performed by qualified electricians where required. • Before setup, tool or filter changes, clearing a fault, cleaning or maintenance, switch off, isolate from the power supply, wait for complete standstill and prevent unintentional restart. • Wear close-fitting clothing, remove jewellery and secure long hair; use eye and hearing protection and suitable respiratory protection for dust as required by the manual and risk assessment. • Keep children and unauthorised persons away; never remove, bypass or defeat guards or safety devices. • Use only suitable, undamaged blades; correctly set blade tension, tracking, guides and guards before starting and lower the upper guide as close as practical to the workpiece. • Guide the workpiece securely on the table, support large stock and use a push stick or suitable jig for small or narrow pieces; keep hands to the sides of the cutting line. • Do not pull backwards out of a running cut; wait for complete standstill and isolate from power before removing offcuts or changing the blade.
