Overview
The Baileigh RD-1600H is a heavy radial drill for drilling large workpieces in steel, machine and vessel fabrication. The drill head is moved to the hole position on the swinging arm while the workpiece stays in place. The spindle motor is rated 4 kW, drilling capacity is 50.8 mm.
Reach ranges from 350 to 1600 mm, base to spindle distance from 350 to 1250 mm. The arm is moved by motor (1.1 kW) at 1.2 m/min and swings through 360°, column and drill head are clamped hydraulically (0.75 kW). The MT5 spindle offers 16 speeds from 25 to 2000 rpm and 16 feed rates from 0.04 to 3.2 mm/rev with 435 mm quill travel. Maximum spindle torque 400 Nm, maximum feed force 16000 N.
Speed and feed are selected with pre-select buttons, a micro-feed is available in addition to the mechanical feed. A work lamp, coolant pump (0.12 kW) and emergency stop button are fitted. Weight is 3500 kg, the operating manual is included.
